Leucoderma represents a particular type of skin disease, which causes decrease in skin pigmentation. And as a result white patches appears over the skin, another term used for leucoderma is Vitiligo. It affects certain parts of the body instead of whole body such as in scalp, lips, hands, arms, face, and feet. Lecoderma or vitiligo may caused by many  factors like long time sun exposure, certain injuries  mental stress, cuts on body and chronic disease like jaundice.

Leucoderma is not a disease, which spreads from one person to another. Main symptom to acknowledge leucoderma is the appearance of white, small or big white patches on the affected person’s body. Available medications for treating leucoderma are not very effective and may treat leucoderma only partially. Additionally, few natural remedies you may find effective for treatment of Leucoderma but you should ask your doctor before using any home remedies.

Natural Remedies for Leucoderma

Heena or Menhdi seeds
 Heena considered an effective remedy to treat leucoderma, it may not recognized widely but it is found  effective for minimizing white patches of leucoderma. In order to use menhdi first take some menhdi seeds  and dry them completely. When the seeds fully dried make powder of by meshing these seeds. Now make  paste with the meshed seeds after adding proportionate amount of mustered oil. Use this paste regularly by  applying over the affected skin every morning and leave it to dry for 1-2 hours and then go for a bath, this will help you in reducing the white patches.

Mustered Oil
Mustered oil is a regular home based item proved very effective in the treatment of leucoderma. Mustered oil contains medicinal properties such as anti-fungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory; in addition, it is a natural germ killer and prevents toxicities as well. Direct application of mustered oil over the affected area and leaving it for 1-2 hours is the way usually adopted to use mustered oil for treating leucoderma. Another way to use mustered oil in treating leucoderma is by making paste of mustered oil added with either of garlic,
Peanuts
ginger, basil extracts, turmeric or menhdi and applying two times per day over the affected area and then take bath to feel better.

Red Clay
Red Clay is a widely practiced remedy to treat leucoderma or vitiligo, People during the older times used red clay often. Red clay usually found near the water bodies and it contains copper in it. Copper also considered useful for decreasing the effect of leucoderma, people suffering from leucoderma often advised to drink water from copper bowl or copper glass. Best method to use red clay in leucoderma is by making a paste with clay and adding few drops of ginger juice or you can even add mustered oil into it as well. Apply the paste similarly as pervious two methods for 1-2 hr and then take bath. You will notice the patches of leucoderma slowly fading away.

Garlic or Ginger
I have mentioned two names here because both of these homes based items proven effective against leucoderma. There are number of medicinal capabilities contained by both ginger and garlic making them useful for treating a number of skin infections. The medicinal properties found on garlic as well as ginger includes antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and anti- inflammatory that provides an effective counter measure for treating skin and other body problems including leucoderma as well. Either you can apply garlic or ginger directly over the affected area or you can add some mustered oil to make paste for applying over the patched skin. Sit on an open area to expose affected skin in mild sunrays, remain there for 30-40 minutes and then take bath.

Peanut
Peanut may prove effective for treating leucoderma as it contains many useful vitamins and minerals; in addition, it contains zinc, copper, magnesium and potassium also that makes it useful for leucoderma. Regular use of peanuts is good in case of leucoderma. For using peanuts, make paste of it by adding few drops of almond oil or simply water and apply over the patched portion of the skin to heal leucoderma gradually.

Head lice mainly occur on school going children due to the possibility of direct head-to-head contact, however it may affect anyone irrespective of age and gender. Lice spread when a person come in contacts with affected person or using their comb, towel or other personal items. Lice can only spread through contact and not by jumping or flying from an affected person to other. The girls are more prone towards getting lice than the boys because of their long hairs where lice may hide easily. Same as other parasites lice needs a home and food too, and that is why lice live in our body. By proper care and cleaning, we can avoid having lice. Excessive use of conditioners & shampoo may also cause lice. Apart from various medications available in the market today various home based treatments also helps eliminating and preventing lice.


Proper hygiene
The best home remedy to avoid head lice is keeping proper body hygiene, if you keep your body and hair clean then the chances of lice spreading almost reaches to nil. Proper cleaning of hair and keeping your belongings clean and safe prevent you from being a host to lice. Your hair and head need proper oiling to remain healthy therefore nourish them regularly with coconut oil. You can also prevent yourself by keeping a safe distance from others especially in case of children who can catch lice easily.

Neem ( azadirachta indica )

Indians are very fond of using it for cleaning teeth in morning for having strong and infection less teeth. Having bath with neem soap often advised by professionals for preventing skin infections. Neem is a good germs and bacterial killer with containing a number of medicinal properties. To remove head lice take few drops of neem oil and rub it thoroughly on your scalp and hairs and cover your head with a cotton cloth for whole night and Comb your hair in the next morning. You will definitely see the effectiveness of neem oil.

You can find a number of hair products made with using reetha, in addition, reetha also used for strengthening the hair & boosting hair growth. Reetha is a natural germ killer and therefore may used against head lice as well. For using, take some reetha and water to boil, leave it for about 30-45 minutes into boiling and then let it cool Apply it on your hair and scalp for at least twice a day. It will help to remove lice from your head and make your hair shiny and strong.

Amla  ( gooseberry )

Gooseberry or amla is a rich source of vitamin C and includes calcium, vitamins, iron and minerals as well. Amla is also very useful for hair growth and preventing head lice. For removing head-lice take few amla seeds and mix it with lemon to make paste, use this paste to apply over your scalp and hair roots and after 2-3 hrs wash it. You can repeat this method 2-3 times per week.

Kerosene oil
Kerosene oil is a proven method for removing head lice. It sounds weird, however some of my friend used it earlier and it worked for them. Kerosene oil is effective in killing parasites and germs including head lice. Using kerosene oil is very easy, simply rinse your hair with it and then wrap a cloth around your head to cover hairs. Leave it for a night and comb your hair in the morning and you will find only the dead lice.
